5 Ways to Use a Meddy Teddy

Meddy Teddy is a stuffed animal bear that is adjustable and posable into almost every yoga posture. The bear itself was founded by three brothers who (after coming home from a trip to India) wanted to create a way for families to connect with yoga and their whole-body health! The bear was created in 2016, and has quickly risen to fame. Sales are continuing to grow with the lovable teddy — and I just so happened to buy 4 of them!
Besides the obvious fact that you can make the bears do yoga poses, why else would a family want one? Well… read below to find out 5 ways you can use a Meddy Teddy!
#1 - Partner Yoga Ideas
Meddy Teddy is a great visual for teaching kids how to do partner yoga poses! Also, as a teacher, you can create new partner yoga poses by adjusting the bears into new postures.
#2 - Group Yoga Ideas
Meddy Teddy is an easy prop to take photos of, and use as flashcards when wanting to teach whole group kids yoga classes. The saying “fewer words are more” comes to life when teaching! Kids enjoy having visuals to learn from, rather than an adult who likes to hear themself talk!
#3 - Sleep Aide
This bear can be a sleeping friend for little ones. You can also have kids do bed-yoga poses with the bear in hand!
#4 - Breathing Friend
Belly breathing is so much fun when you have a “bear” to “belly-breathe” with. Place the bear on your child’s belly, then have them watch their stomach as it rises and falls. This allows them to focus in on their breath in a fun interactive way!
#5 - Yoga Sculptures
Have kids play around with multiple Meddy Teddy bears. See if they can create new poses and come up with new names too! Have them get creative by making the bears pose in silly places too (ex. laundry room, on a trampoline, on a floaty in a pool, etc).
